The Trust for Public Land (TPL), a national nonprofit land conservation
organization, has been integrally involved in efforts to protect 427
acres of land in Simsbury, CT now owned by The Ethel Walker School.
With the town's share of the purchase price approved in a November
referendum, the efforts to preserve this remarkable property now turn
to the private fundraising campaign. TPL has committed to raise $2.75
million in private donations by March 2007 to close on the first phase
of the land acquisition. The organization has raised approximately $1
million to date.

A Lasting Gift......
The preservation of the beautiful land in the photographs on this card
the Ethel Walker Woods -has been a personal mission for over a year.
Despite many twists and turns, the dream of permanently protecting this
special place is very close -but the reality depends on an additional
private fundraising campaign. The Trust for Public Land, a national
nonprofit land conservation organization, has committed to raising
$2.75 million in private donations by March 2007 to supplement the $8
million in public funds already approved.
If you give year-end gifts to charities, please consider a
tax-deductible donation to The Trust for Public Land. By using the form
on the reverse side, your contribution will be used only for the
purchase of the Ethel Walker Woods, ensuring the permanent protection
of this remarkable property. No other gift has such lasting value, and
none other would be more appreciated. It truly is a lasting gift for
every generation to come.
